From Crashes to Lessons Learned: Boeing's Safety Overhaul

Boeing is making significant strides to improve its safety culture and operations following two fatal 737 MAX crashes. Mike Delaney, Boeing's Chief Aerospace Safety Officer, outlined the firm's reform efforts, including enhanced pilot and mechanic training, intensive flight data analysis for accident prevention, and a wide-scale education campaign for employees.

Boeing is also launching a comprehensive internal website to share information about past airline accidents and their associated lessons.

As part of this, the company is producing a video focused specifically on the 737 MAX crashes and the lessons learned from those tragedies. source

Lufthansa Set to Acquire 40% Stake in ITA Airways

Lufthansa Group and the Italian Ministry of Economy have concluded talks to allow the German airline to acquire a 40% stake in ITA Airways. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, is set to expand Lufthansa's group of European carriers, with potential plans to increase ownership to 90%.

The initial investment stands at €320-330 million, with a further €500 million earmarked for an additional 50-55% stake by 2026, conditional on ITA Airways achieving its first operating breakeven.

The acquisition is expected to help turn around ITA Airways' financial losses, while ITA Airways aims to enhance its operations with new aircraft and expanded routes. source
