Executive Summary
Shield AI closed a $2 billion financing package at a $12.7 billion post-money valuation in March 2026, and funding talks reported in September point to $20 billion or more.
The Air Force awarded Hivemind a production contract for collaborative combat aircraft mission autonomy in June 2026.
Government and company commitments to X-BAT reached $400 million in October, split evenly, with flight testing planned for late 2026.
Shield AI projects more than 80% growth in 2026, equal to at least $540 million, before any Aechelon contribution.
A Reuters investigation reported more than 50 V-BAT losses in an 18-month window, and Shield AI disputes that picture.
Verdict: Shield AI is gaining ground in autonomy software and program position, and two events decide the next year, namely X-BAT first flight and a measurable drop in V-BAT losses.

Shield AI Revenue & Financial Analysis
Shield AI is private and publishes no audited statements. Every figure below comes from company announcements, executive interviews or contract records, and projections are labeled as projections.
Capital Structure and Runway
The Series G is led by Advent International and co-led by JPMorganChase’s Security and Resiliency Initiative. Funds managed by Blackstone added $500 million of fixed-return preferred equity and committed a further $250 million delayed-draw facility.
That package totals up to $2.25 billion of available capital. The prior round was $240 million at $5.3 billion in March 2025, so the valuation rose 140% in one year.
The preferred equity avoids dilution of common holders but carries a fixed return the business must service. Suppliers and partners should treat that return as a standing cost inside the cash plan.
Proceeds fund three jobs:
The Aechelon purchase,
Scale-up of Hivemind and V-BAT, and
Certain phases of X-BAT development.
The CEO said the Aechelon deal drove the raise even though the company still held cash.
That sequencing signals that simulation sits at the center of the Hivemind plan.
CAPITAL AVAILABLE AFTER MARCH 2026
Series G equity: $1.5B
Blackstone fixed-return preferred: $0.5B
Blackstone delayed-draw facility: $0.25B
Total package: up to $2.25B
Valuation step-up: $5.3B (Mar 2025) to $12.7B (Mar 2026)
